Landscape Walk Theme Gardens.
This Landscape Walk is a development by Tom Finlay that provides a living Territory landscape featuring plants and rocks from various Territory landmarks. Tom also hopes that you will be inspired to create ideas for your garden. Take the time to wander around and ask Tom for any other suggestions.
Feel free to start anywhere. These photos take you from the Western end (Stuart Hwy on your right).
At the country gate shaded by the 'lucky' MilkWood tree we see the dry stone porcelinite wall capped with Kimberley Rose.
It's okay, he's a friendly monster!
The walk contains many native and exotic plants. These bromileads thrive in Darwin.
The Salmon Ring fireplace is built with Mt. Bundy Granite.
This is from another indigenous group - the Canadian Indian who used markers like this to point to summer homelands. Tom calls him "Mr. Kimberley" because he's built with Kimberley Rose flatstone.
Random Himalayan Sandstone path.
Past some huge rocks to another feature.
Howard Peninsula stone is quite stunning.
Curved paths add intimacy to the walk.
.
Black and white pebbles can make an interesting Japanese feature.
Creepers soften a block wall.
The Boab grows well in WA and is often found in dry creek beds that is represented here.
Dry Creek river bed adds another perspective.
A Gazebo, part demolished house and the Dragon engage us in this section of the garden.
Is the dragon guarding the Moon Arch?
He looks fierce up close!
But he's just guiding us under the Moon Arch.
It took 6 months to put every tile on the Dragon.
You can count them if you like but we know that there are more than 100,000 individual tiles on the Dragon.
Gravel provides another medium for paths in your garden.
An old plough points to the Waterfall.
The partly demolished house.
The obelisk is the feature in the formal garden area.
We can follow this beautiful wall back to Finlay's Joint for a "cuppa".
Beautiful scultures are an attraction.
And huge rocks can screen or provide structure for climbing plants.
